Once we receive your CV and covering letter, your application is reviewed. If we're interested in your application we contact you and conduct a brief, informal preliminary interview. It's nothing to be worried about; we just want to find out a bit more about you before taking your application to the next stage.
At the next stage, you are invited to attend a face to face interview. For most positions only one interview is necessary. However, occasionally we do invite candidates back for a second interview to discuss things in more detail.
You generally hear back from us within 2 weeks, when we tell you one of the following:
We can receive hundreds of applications each day, so unfortunately it is not possible to reply to each individual applicant. Therefore, if you have not heard from us within 3 weeks of your application, you have not been successful this time.
We are always happy to receive your call if you would like to check on your application or would like feedback.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept applications from students or graduates on this visa, due to the length of our training period.
Unfortunately we are unable to sponsor any visa applications at this time.
Yes, you can still apply as no previous IT experience is necessary. All we require is a minimum 2:1 in a maths, science, computing or engineering degree and an exceptional academic background. We are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training, and you are allocated a mentor who can help guide you when you first join.
All our graduate vacancies are analytical and so we only accept applications from maths, science, engineering or computer science degrees.
We recruit throughout the year for our core graduate positions and therefore do not usually give a closing date for applications. From time to time we recruit for a specific role where there may only be one position available; for these roles we provide a closing date on the vacancy.
When you apply for a job with Dorset Software we collect certain information or data about you.
Dorset Software holds data electronically on servers in the UK. If you are selected for telephone interview we also print paper copies of your application and record written details of the interview. These are stored securely in our offices in the UK.
All electronic and physical data from an unsuccessful application is stored for 6 months and then securely destroyed.
We do not and will not share or sell your personal information with/to any other organisations for any purposes, such as marketing, market research or commercial purposes.
Occasionally we collate aggregate data (a set of information looked at as a whole) and may share this with other organisations for business purposes only. For example, we might look at the numbers of applicants that have seen our advert on a certain website and discuss this with that supplier company in relation to the performance of the advertising campaign. This type of data never includes personally identifiable information.
You have the right to object to your data being processed at any point in the recruitment process. If you would like us to stop collecting or processing your information, please call us on 01202 777707 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
