TRACE Update

Dorset Software’s time management system TRACE is undergoing some exciting new developments. Find out below how you’ll benefit from the changes.

A Message to All Users

What's new?

To improve security, we have updated the password requirements for TRACE. From Go Live date, when you log in you’ll be asked to change your password so that it contains at least:

  • 12 characters
  • One number
  • One lower case letter
  • Once upper case letter

Top Tip

To make your password easier to remember (and type!) use a passphrase rather than a random collection of characters.

For example, "MyDogIsAged7" - although please don't use this particular phrase, even if you do have a dog aged 7!

HR Administrators

There are several updates for those of you with HR Administrator permissions. Should you need additional support when carrying out any of these actions, click the ‘Help’ button on the relevant page in TRACE. Further queries can be directed to any of the Named Users.

You can now:

  • Switch an employee’s leave between days and hours – particularly helpful when employees change between full-time and part-time contracts.
  • Anonymise past employee details – allows you to comply with GDPR.
  • Depending on your TRACE configuration, either:
    • Reject previously authorised sick pay.
    • Reject previously confirmed sick days.

Project Managers

For those of you with Project Manager administration permissions, there's one key change in this release. Should you need additional support when in TRACE itself, click the ‘Help’ button on the relevant page in TRACE or contact a Named User.

You can now:

  • Run a financial extract report - what benefit does this have?
